3 Dimensional Art Cardboard Project Process:

2
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

For this project, we needed to create something using cardboard and heavy white construction paper. In the beginning, we were only allowed to use the cardboard itself, with no type of adhesive other than laminating it/hot gluing it, which I ended up not doing. Since no type of adhesive was allowed the first day, I initially just had a ladder like object that was connected at the top. However, I soon realized that while transporting my object to and from class, it began to fall down more and more due to damage. So, for the next step, I had made a stand like structure for the bottom of the ladder like object, (Picture 2). Once that had been made and it was told that we would be using white craft paper, I had the idea of making this ladder like object into a waterfall, allowing a little more creativity other than it looking like "just a ladder." However, once again, my object was damaged. Pieces of the white strips that were suppose to represent water began falling off and needed to be replaced. However, in the end, it came out to look okay, and I continue to work on this over the semester as  it is our first project in this class and it gives a very large impression to what my style might be like. I plan on adding holes to the base white construction paper to allow some sight into the structure, as well as adding some blue tap to the white strips to make it look more like a water affect, just as my classmates had suggested. Overall, I enjoyed this project. However, there is still a lot more I need to work on if I would like to see more success from myself in this class.
